The Electronic Arts and Skills Workshop was designed by multimedia artist Constanza Piña to encourage collaborative learning and exchange of knowledge. To that end, a temporary workshop was set up to teach electronics, which integrated local skills, crafts, and trades. We encouraged neighbors to donate discarded electronic devices to be used as material for the workshop.
The workshop took place at Casa Gallina’s annex, which encouraged many walk-ins to participate spontaneously. During the sessions, Constanza Piña encouraged active thinking about planned obsolescence, and taught practical recycling techniques, including those required to recycle electronic devices collected in the neighborhood.
