The main goal of the Introduction to Audiovisual Production Workshop was to offer a general view of the different work fields required in audiovisual production. Another goal was to get participants acquainted with the basic conceptual and practical tools of production, and to develop observation and thinking abilities while recording their immediate environment.

During the workshop, participants studied different models of cinematographic language with examples from short films, community video, and documentaries. They explored taping with cell phones, and practiced lighting, sound recording, and postproduction. Neighbor and filmmaker Isabel Muñoz determined the themes for each session and explained to participants the basic techniques of simple and affordable digital tools and programs.
