Born in Mexico City in 1988, Perla Espínola has always lived in Santa María La Ribera. She graduated from the School of Ethnology at the National School of Anthropology and History. She is the founder and collaborator of Libros contra la violencia (Books against Violence), a community project dedicated to promote reading in public spaces. She is also a member of the radio via internet group Voluta radial. In a joint effort with Casa Gallina, she organized ¿Lectura para qué? (Why Read?), inviting all the community initiatives to encourage reading; she also organized the reading group Cuentos para disfrutar el barrio (Stories to Enjoy the Barrio).
