Bernardo Esquinca. (Guadalajara, Jalisco, 1972). He studied Communication Sciences in ITESO. Since 2003 he has been in Mexico City, where he served as Editorial Coordinator of the National Art Museum. He is the author of the novels Belleza roja (Red beauty), Los escritores invisibles (The invisible writers), La octava plaga (The eighth plague) and Toda la sangre (All the blood), as well as the collections of stories Los niños de paja (The straw children), Demonia and Mar Negro (Black Sea). Together with Vicente Quirarte he compiled two volumes of the anthology Ciudad fantasma. Relato fantástico de la Ciudad de México XIX-XXI. (Ghost City. Fantastic story of the City of Mexico from the nineteenth to the twenty first century). He is a member of the National System of Creators of Art in FONCA. Esquinca has written the texts for The Book of Pets, interviewing the owners of pets.
