Torres holds a master’s in Social Medicine (Collective Health) and currently serves as a nutritionist for UAM Xochimilco, where she has been awarded the Medal of Merit. She studied at the University of Barcelona in the Food Studies program. She has a diploma in Clinical Nutrition from the La Salle University and the Center for Food Orientation. Her areas of interest are the investigation of alimentary practices and conduct, the influence of medical recommendations on beliefs, patterns and feeding practices, and the design and implementation of health programs at a collective level. She is nutritional consultant at Food Project, an independent project whose objective is to generate and implement models of nutrition with a critical vision about the cultural and social impact of food. She collaborates with the Observatory of Nutrition, Mexico. She led a presentation on nutrition in the pastry workshop of the Open Kitchen.
