Cynthia_fotoShe studied visual arts at Guadalajara University, and her work has been shown in several solo exhibits, such as Paráfrasis del estrago at the Museo de Arte Raúl Anguiano (Guadalajara, 2016), Coreografía del colapso at Proyecto Paralelo (Mexico City, 2014), Notas de Carnaval at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (Mexico, 2011), Escuela para cadáveres at the Museo de las Artes (Mexico, 2008). She has also participated in the following group exhibits: Social Contract, Izolyatsia Platform for Cultural Initiatives (Ukraine, 2016), Overburden at the CCS Bard Hessel Museum (USA, 2016), A Certain Urge (Towards Turmoil), EFA Project Space (USA, 2016), Reconstrucción at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (Mexico, 2016), Como fantasmas que vienen de las sombras… y en las sombras, se van, ESPAC (Mexico, 2015), Objectsfoodrooms, Proyecto Paralelo (Mexico, 2015), Celemania, Frac des Pays de la Loire (France, 2014), Berlin Biennale 8, KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Germany, 2014), Algunas lagunas, Proyecto Paralelo (Mexico City, 2013), Crossing Boundaries, II Moscow International Biennale for Young Art (Russia, 2010), and Hecho en casa, Museo de Arte Moderno (Mexico City, 2009). She was artist-in-residence at the Frac des Pays de la Loire (France, 2014), and at the A+D Arte y Desarrollo en Laboral Centro de Arte (Spain, 2009), and was awarded a fellowship from FONCA’s Program for Young Creators (2013–14). She has been a member of National System of Art Creators (SNCA, as per Spanish acronym) since 2016.
