Esteban King Álvarez (Mexico, 1986) has a BA degree in history and a master’s degree in art history from UNAM. He has written several articles on art, literature, and experimental music. Some of his published works are “Estridentismo e imaginarios urbanos,” in Vanguardia en México 1915–40 (catalogue, MUNAL, 2013) and “Nuevas estrategias narrativas: los trabajos de Salvador Elizondo,” in Desafío a la estabilidad. Procesos artísticos en México, 1952–67 (catalogue, MUAC, 2014). He has curated several group exhibits, such as Transcripciones (Museo del Chopo, 2014) and Fonema (Ex Teresa Arte Actual, 2016). From 2012 to 2015 he was a curator and researcher at the Museo Universitario del Chopo. He was a 2015–16 Young Creators fellow. He is currently a curator at Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo (ESPAC, as per Spanish acronym). King participated as an external adviser in Marianna Dellekamp’s presentation of her proposal.
