ISABELShe studied filmmaking at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, specializing in directing and direct sound engineering, a field in which she has worked in recent years on films such as El violin (The Violin) by Francisco Vargas, Bala Mordida (Bitten Bullet) by Diego Muñoz, El traspatio (The Backyard) by Carlos Carrera, El Informe Toledo (Toledo’s Report) by Albino Álvarez, and Trópico de Cáncer (Tropic of Cancer) by Eugenio Polgovsky, among others. She has directed short films such as Estar (Being), 1999; Tocando fondo (Hitting Bottom), 2000; Boliche de Roberto (Robert’s Bowling Alley), 2002; En tránsito (In Transit), 2007; and Su Mercé (Your Grace), 2007, which won the 2009 Ariel for best short film. She also won the 2015 Ariel for best sound in Güeros. With Gibrán Ramírez Portela, she coordinated the film and debate cycle Héroe Común: reflexiones cinematográficas en torno a la vida cotidiana (Common Hero: Film Reflections about Everyday Life).
