Palacios is an art historian from the Iberoamerican University. Since 2012, he has been Head of Visual Arts at Casa del Lago Juan Jose Arreola of the Autonomous University of Mexico. From 2003-2004, he was part of the ninth generation of the Curatorial Program at the De Appel Arts Center, Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has worked as curatorial assistant at the Tamayo Museum – Contemporary Art – and at the Siqueiros Public Sala de Arte (1999-2002). He served as curatorial assistant at the Biennial Manifesta 5 in San Sebastian, Spain (2004). From 2005-2007, he worked as an independent curator based in Barcelona. During this period, he collaborated on several initiatives with institutions such as Hangar and the Santa Monica Art Center and assisted as a curator at the “la Caixa” Foundation. From 2007 to 2009, he was Chief Curator of the Carrillo Gil Art Museum, and from 2009-2012 curator of the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City. He co-founded Materia de dibujo/ Drawing issues. Currently, he is a contributor at Cain, The Tempest and Art Nexus magazines. Palacios worked as interlocutor in the presentation of the proposal of Ulises Figueroa.
