Cadu, an artist with experience as a professor at two universities in Rio de Janeiro, lectured at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado “La Esmeralda (National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving “La Esmeralda”), in February. Cadu held an open dialogue with the students about what it means to be an artist in today’s world: the demands of personal commitment and eagerness for knowledge, daring creativity, belief in individualized work, and unyielding perseverance. This is the fourth residence of the Brazilian artist in Casa Gallina, as part of his research process and partnership in the Santa María La Ribera neighborhood.
